Schedule, Entry Fee and Forfeit details

Here are a few more details from the BCC Championship Rules:

.... [The Championship] will be played on consecutive Wednesday evenings starting the first Wednesday after Labor Day. There will be a break on October 20th, due to the BCC Annual meeting. Rounds will start promptly at 7:00p.m.

There [is] no entry fee.

... [E]ach player will post a $60 forfeit fee. At the time a player has completed all his games, the $60 will be returned to him. However, $30 (at least) will not be returned for each game that a player forfeits .... [The] penalty for the first non-malicious forfeiting will be $30. The first malicious forfeit will cause the complete loss of the $60 and expulsion from the tournament.
Malicious is defined as making no attempt to notify your opponent or the TD that you cannot make the playing time, not apologizing to your opponent and the TD for forfeiting. Upon the second forfeit of any kind, the player will lose the remainder of the forfeit fee and be expelled from the tournament.

As I'm sure you've surmised by now, the club has had some ugly incidents in past Championships involving forfeited games.
