On (no) preparation

The opportunity to prepare in advance is one of the unique attributes of round robin tournaments, since the opponent and color are known ahead of time. However, this benefit does not apply to the first round of the BCC Championship. According to the rules:
Drawing of lots shall take place on September 8th and shall be conducted by the BCC tournament committee or their designated representative(s).
Therefore, pairings for the first and subsequent rounds will not be known until just before the 1st round starts. So, my preparation regime for this week mostly involves getting enough rest and some general review of my opening repertoire. In the following weeks, preparation will be more specific and detailed.
