Trafficking in gossip

It is interesting how people start to treat you differently when you assume the role of a journalist. Some give you information they want to see in print; others choose not to share things they might otherwise have discussed for fear that it will be published. Perhaps a bit of caution is necessary, especially in the blogosphere where journalistic standards are viewed variously as archaic, unnecessary, impediments to free communication or simply recommendations. As I have written previously, the Championship has been largely free of controversy this year. However, I heard through the grapevine that a disagreement over rescheduling an earlier round game resulted in a number of heated e-mail exchanges between the two players. Does anyone want to shine some light on this story?
