Trafficking in gossip
It is interesting how people start to treat you differently when you assume the role of a journalist. Some give you information they want to see in print; others choose not to share things they might otherwise have discussed for fear that it will be published. Perhaps a bit of caution is necessary, especially in the blogosphere where journalistic standards are viewed variously as archaic, unnecessary, impediments to free communication or simply recommendations. I, for one, am happy to traffic in gossip if it makes for a good post -- read on:
As I have written previously, the Championship has been largely free of controversy this year. However, I heard through the grapevine that a disagreement over rescheduling an earlier round game resulted in a number of heated e-mail exchanges between the two players. Does anyone want to shine some light on this story?
